During the past two weeka we've been learning about the seasons of the year. We've sorted pictures and trees into seasons and talked about our favorite time of the year.
Since we are in the season of Autumn, also known as Fall, we read a few books about the season of golden leaves, pumpkins and apples, and chilly air.
First, we read "We're Going on a Leaf Hunt" and acted out the story by pretending to search for leaves in the Library. We played a game using dice to find out how many and what color leaves we found. In preschool we had fun playing in make believe leaves and putting them into piles and then jumping into the pile! We read "Clifford's First Autumn" and watched as the little red puppy learned about leaves, birds flying south, rolling pumpkins, and football while having fun during his first autumn. The next week we read a silly book about a tree that loved winter, spring, and summer but did not like the fall at all! Ask me what happened to that tree in "Fall is Not Easy."
There are so mang things you can do in each season but learning all about Autumn made us "fall" in love with it!
