This week we are learning about our bones. Sure we see lots of skeleton decorations during this Halloween season but did you know that we all have a skeleton under our skin!? First, we had to put together a skeleton puzzle that we found in the Mystery Bag and then we talked about how to take pictures of our bones. No, you can't use a regular camera, you need a special x-ray machine and a light box to see it. We looked at real x-rays using a light box...kind of disgusting yet really cool! After looking at a non-fiction book about bones we read a funny story called "Skeleton Hiccups" by Margery Cuyler about a silly skeleton that couldn't get rid of his hiccups! Ask me to retell this story to find out how he cured his hiccups.
For our activity this week we made our own x-rays. Hold it up to the light and you can see the skeleton under my skin! Cool.
