This week in Pre-School we practiced our re-telling skills with the story "Bark, George!" by Jules Feiffer. First we listened to the funny story about a little dog who can't seem to find his voice. Then we made our own George the Dog puppets so we can re-tell the story to our families. Ask me about the story of "Bark, George!"
In Kindergarten we learned about making pizza! We also listened a silly story about a sad boy named Pete whose dad and mom help cheer him up by turning him into a pizza! That's right! A pizza. They pretend that he is a ball of dough and knead and stretch him out. Then they put on some toppings like tomatoes (they're really checkers) and cheese (it's really pieces of paper) and then they put him in to the oven to bake! What? The oven? No, they use the couch and pretend to cook their Pete the Pizza! In the end Pete goes from being sad and miserable to a happy boy ! I wonder how that happened? Talk to your child about ways that you help other family members feel better when they are sad.
After the story we learned about AB and ABB patterns. We used pizza toppings to create these patterns….like pepperoni, cheese,
pepperoni, cheese, pepperoni, cheese and pepperoni, cheese, cheese, pepperoni, cheese, cheese, pepperoni, cheese, cheese. Next we made our own patterns on a "pizza box" to take home and share with our families!

pepperoni, queso, pepperoni, queso y pepperoni, queso, queso, pepperoni, queso, queso, pepperoni, queso, queso.
