In celebration of Martin Luther King, Jr. Day we read the book "The Crayon Box that Talked" by Shane DeRolf. We helped solve the problem of the crayons not getting along by remembering how Dr. King wanted us all to get along regardless of race. Then we made our own crayon to put into our class's crayon box. "We are a box of crayons, each one ofbus unique. But when we get together the picture is complete!"
Friday was a snowy day so we decided to have an impromptu L'Art lesson. That's when we combine Library and Art into one fun and creative class! First, we read my favorite snowy day book: The Snowy Day by Ezra Jack Keats. Then we used textured and glimmery white paint to make our own snowy landscapes. It was a fun and snowy L'Art day!
The weather outside is frightful but Robertson School's Winter Carnival will be delightful!
Join your Robertson family for a fun night filled with games and crafts to help your child learn to love reading! Books Are Wings will be there distributing free books to all the kids. Special Guest: Clifford the Big Red Dog! So scoop up your little snowflakes and float down to Robertson School on Wednesday, January 18!!! Sorry friends but it's been a very long time since I've posted. Not many people read my blog so I haven't been keeping it up to date as much as I should. I hope to be able to post some of the fun and exciting things going on in the Library. So check back every now and then. Ciao.
