First we read about a tree that loves winter, spring, and summer but does not like the fall. In the book "Fall is Not Easy" by Marty Kelley the tree has difficulty changing his leaves when fall comes around. Ask me about the silly way the tree looks when it tries to change! We made our own creative trees to share with our families.
Next, we read about a turkey that tries to disguise himself as other animals so he won't get eaten on Thanksgiving Day! Ask me to retell the story, "Turkey Trouble" by Wendi Silvano. We had fun disguising our own turkeys and joining art class to make little turkeys. Oh, did you notice the special visitor that came to make turkeys with us?
Happy Thanksgiving to all our families. I am very thankful to be able to share books and learning with your children!
Just a reminder: please return your request for a family library card forms to school so you can visit our school library and borrow books with your children.
