First we looked into the Mystery Bag and found bunny slippers and a tiny bed.....hmmmmm?
When do you wear slippers? At night, in the morning, when I sleep...were just some of the responses.
We looked at the cover and discussed all of the silly things that we saw....a dog sleeping on a boy....the bed was almost broken....our resident weather man "S" noticed that it was raining. We talked about things we liked to do when it rains: sleep, read, play inside, splash in the puddles, etc. We listened to rain sounds (and were very brave when we heard the thunder!) while we got ready for storytime.
During the story we made up silly noises to go with each character...the snoring granny was the funniest!
After our read-aloud it was time to act out the story using props. First we sequenced the characters and then we took turns adding them to the bed. The best part was waking everyone up when the flea bit the mouse! Squeeeeeak! Yeowwww! Woof!
Before leaving the Library we started working on our take home worksheets. We had to draw ourselves sleeping in the Napping House and then for homework we have to re-tell this silly...not so sleepy....story to our families.
Nighty Night! Sleep tight!
--------------------------
Nighty Night! Que duermas bien!
